AAFMAA Mortgage Services LLC (AMS), a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Armed Forces Mutual Aid Association (AAFMAA), also known as Armed Forces Mutual, is seeking motivated, military-oriented professionals with strong sales and customer service skills to join our team as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO), also known as a Loan Officer (LO), and known internally as a Military Mortgage Advisors (MMA). The role primarily focuses on helping servicemembers, Veterans, and their families obtain affordable financing to build, buy, or refinance a home. Please read the job description below.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Originate residential mortgage loans to existing and prospective homeowners (both military and non-military borrowers via different channels).
  • Follow up via phone, text, and email daily to qualified inbound and outbound leads.
  • Participate in local events and community outreach to develop relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other referral partners.
  • Use a consultative sales approach to present tailored mortgage solutions that best match the borrower’s needs and then support them throughout the loan process.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active or pending mortgage loan originator license (NMLS).
  • 1–3 years of mortgage or financial services experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sales acumen and motivation to serve the military community.
  • Tech-savvy and familiar with CRM platforms, loan origination systems, and digital communication tools.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

    • Monthly commissions based on funded loan volume with high percentage payouts ranging from 135 basis points (BPS) to as high as 150 BPS of monthly loan dollar volume with only $1M minimum monthly volume to achieve the higher payout.

AAFMAA Mortgage Services LLC (AMS) is seeking Sales Managers in an outside sales role to achieve mortgage production goals; build and maintain productive sales teams (e.g., staff of mortgage salespeople); ensure compliance with company policies, all state-federal regulations, and investor and agency guidelines (e.g., VA, FHA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae); and deliver exceptional customer service for prospective and existing members of Armed Forces Mutual. In addition, the Sales Manager will develop strong relationships with business referral sources such as real estate agents/brokers, homebuilders, and community and industry organizations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate his/her own mortgage production by using a consultative sales approach to present tailored mortgage solutions that best match the borrower’s needs and then support them throughout the loan process.
  • Develop the sales strategies and tactics to drive mortgage origination and grow the business.
  • Participate in local events and community outreach to develop relationships with real estate agents, brokers, homebuilders, and other referral partners in local and regional markets.
  • Identify new business opportunities and look for ways to increase awareness of AMS in your market through activities in the field. Spend at least three days a week outside the office/home office originating loans and developing referral/lead sources.
  • Lead a team of Loan Officers (LOs), also known as Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs) or Military Mortgage Advisors (MMAs) to originate residential mortgage loans for existing and prospective homeowners.
  • Hold sales team accountable via daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, reports, coaching, and performance analysis reviews.
  • Oversee efficient loan production and compliance by working with the Operations and Compliance departments to ensure the team complies with all lending regulations, company policies, and loan origination standards.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends; competitor pricing, products, and marketing activities; and local and regional market areas trends to identify opportunities for growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active or eligible to attain a mortgage loan originator license (NMLS).
  • Proven experience in mortgage sales or sales management.
  • 3+ years of mortgage experience and familiarity with loan products, pricing scenarios, overall mortgage and housing industry, investor guidelines, and relevant regulations.
  • Ability to build and lead a productive mortgage sales team.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sales acumen and motivation to serve homebuyers, homeowners, and business contacts (e.g., real estate agents and homebuilders).
  • Tech-savvy and familiar with CRM platforms, loan origination systems, and digital communication tools.
  • Self-starter with ability to handle individual loan production and manage a mortgage sales team.
  • A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, preferred.
  • Analytical, problem-solver with strong leadership skills.

  • Complete flexibility with hours and location (expected to be regularly outside the home/office). AMS can serve multiple locations as we are licensed in 15 states and expanding into new states.
  • Very attractive compensation plan:
    • Personal production incentives – earn a percentage of your total monthly dollar volume.
    • Sales Team production incentives – earn a percentage of the sales team’s total monthly volume.
    • Forgivable draw towards incentives – an annual base amount spread over 26 pay periods. Draw amount deducted from earned commissions/incentive amounts based on personal production and sales team production.
    • Annual bonus opportunity – based on total annual volume originated by the Sales Team, the Sales Manager may earn an additional bonus based on sales goals achieved.
